In 2007, Stephanie Nolasco chose to compose a three-part creative non-fiction piece on growing up in Inwood as her senior project for New School University in New York City. She was given the opportunity to work with Mr. John Glusman, Vice President and Executive Editor of Harmony Books, an imprint of the Crown Publishing Group at Random House, Inc. A publishing veteran of more than 25 years, he has worked with Nobel Prize Winner Czelaw Milosz, National Book Award winner Richard Powers, National Book Critics Circle Award winner Jim Crace, Pulitzer Prize winners Laurie Garret and David Rohde, among many other authors. He is the author of Conduct Under Fire: Four American Doctors and their Fight for Life as Prisoners of the Japanese, 1941-1945, winner of the 2007 Colby Award, and he has written for publications ranging from the Economist, and the Washington Journalism Review to Travel & Leisure and Gourmet.
